- Brushing Too Hard-when you brush your teeth too vigorously, you have an increased chance of destroying your tooth enamel. Once tooth enamel is destroyed, it cannot be restored, so be sure to take care of your teeth with less force. Also use warm water at this softens the bristles creating less damage to the gums/teeth.
- Forgetting to Floss- you might have the best intentions to floss your teeth, but for some reason, it never seems to get done. Make flossing a regular part of your dental routine. (It is OK to floss in the shower too!) Floss can reach places that brushing cannot. Make flossing a necessary element to maintain your dental (and physical) health.

- Brush Correctly-brush your teeth with a soft bristle toothbrush for at least 2 minutes per session, with very small, gentle, vibrating circular motions of the head of the brush. This allows the bristles to really clean the area.
- Floss, floss, floss- flossing is one habit that usually falls off the to-do list, but it is one of the most important. Flossing reaches areas that toothbrushes can’t to keep plaque from building up in the teeth. It is OK to keep your floss in the shower and use it from there once a day.
