Hi All!  Dental photography is the cornerstone of all cosmetic dentistry.  As an Accredited cosmetic dentist and an examiner for the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, I get to examine the best of the best in porcelain veneers, porcelain crowns and cosmetic bonding through dental photography.  If a case comes in that is too dark or too light, then we Examiners cannot fully tell the quality of the work.  So Sheri Marottolo (our cosmetic dental assistant) spent a morning on photography, including lighting, composition, getting the picture coloring to match your actual tooth coloring and then using Adobe Photoshop to send pictures back and forth to the dental lab for accurate porcelain crown fabrication for our patient's Smile Design.  Awesome stuff!  I joined Sheri's second course for a Glamor Shot lesson to perfect those final pictures we take.  You see, everyone of our patients who has chosen a new smile for themselves looks younger, happier, more confident and is healthier when they are completed.  We are now even better equipped to capture that for you.  We have the tools, the technology and finally the advanced photographic training to make that happen.

The other thought I want to leave you with is this concept of best practices.  We expect (we know you do too) our cosmetic dentistry, i.e. our porcelain veneers, porcelain crowns and cosmetic bonding, among other things to last a while.  We expect our Smile Design patients to have fun chewing, eating, expressing, laughing, talking, smiling, loving and kissing; we expect them to be happier and continually enjoying the confidence of their new smile.  We must employ the best practices in cosmetic dentistry to make this happen.  This meeting has infused Sheri and I with advanced technologies we are now bringing back to the Center for Esthetic Dentistry, LLC.  We can't wait to be back at work again!

'Till next blog,
