Invisalign Versus Traditional Braces

Transforming the Look of Your Smile

You look into the mirror and start thinking about your smile.  You have always wanted straighter teeth, but braces never seemed to fit into the plan.  Throughout middle school and high school, you remember watching as countless friends who went to a pediatric dental clinic and got braces had a miraculous transformation a few years later; you remember their radiant smiles.

Today, you cannot even imagine having braces.  Your job requires that you always dress ‘to the nines’, your social and community life is very active; between that and your family life there is not too much time to head to multiple orthodontist appointments.  So what are your options for straightening your teeth now?

Nancy Summer Lerch, DDS, FAGD, AAACD has the answer.  Dr. Lerch knows the importance of having a beautiful smile that you love, and with Invisalign technology, Dr. Lerch can help you to achieve your dream smile.  Through this blog, you will see how clear aligners compare to traditional braces, and find why it is never too late to consider straightening your pearly whites.  Keep reading to learn more…

Braces or Invisalign?

A straight, beautiful, full smile is now available to everyone through the use of clear, invisible trays.  Just because you never had your teeth straightened when you were in early adolescence doesn’t mean that you cannot change the look of your smile in adulthood.  With invisalign treatment, you can straighten your teeth without everyone knowing that you are making subtle changes to the look of your smile.

The Invisalign system is comprised of invisible aligners that gradually shift your teeth into your ideal smile. With the help of Invisalign technology, Nancy Summer Lerch, DDS, FAGD, AAACD creates a plan for you that only requires you changing your aligners every two weeks and having dental visits every six weeks.   All you do is wear the clear aligners 24/7 except to eat, drink, and brush your teeth.

Unlike traditional braces, you can remove Invisalign aligners whenever you like.  While it is recommended that you wear your aligners continuously, you can always remove the aligners for special events.  You do not have to monitor what you eat; you just remove the aligners and eat what you want.  Since you also remove these aligners when you clean your teeth, you do not have to learn a new way to brush and floss your teeth.

With Invisalign, you also do not have to deal with any cuts or scrapes along the gums and tongue like you do with braces.  In addition, the time required for most adults to wear Invisalign is approximately one year.  This timeframe can be substantially less that that of traditional braces.

During an initial consultation, Nancy Summer Lerch, DDS, FAGD, AAACD will consult with you to see if Invisalign is a good fit for your smile and tooth position.  It really is possible to have the smile that you want, in less time than you ever imagined, without anyone noticing that you are changing your smile! Brilliant Smiles Braces is a orthodontic practice that offers new orthodontic methods.
